ABOUT
We look to Jesus, the Leader of the Church, to understand our purpose. We desire His Commands and Commission to become the basis of ministry for Foundation Church.
To love God is to revere Him. He is above us in every way. To grow in our love for God is to grow in our knowledge of Him. To love God is to live our lives experiencing His truth. To love God is to be transformed by Him as we identify and remove other gods from our lives. To love God is to speak of Him to all who will hear. Every day we are given is another day to surrender more of our life to Him.
We are called to love the people that God has placed around us and truly care for them where they are. An essential part to loving them is to learn about them, to know them. We need to learn their stories. We then are able to speak in ways that are loving and reflect our hearing and understanding. Additionally, we serve them in ways that are sacrificial. God's call is to do this for our church family as well as our community.
A commission is “an instruction, command or duty given to a person or group of people." Matthew 28:19-20 is commonly known as the Great Commission to His disciples to share the Gospel with the world. That commission is now for us a call to go forth and do the same - to lead people to follow Jesus; in other words, to make disciples who make disciples.
God’s Word, ANCIENT TRUTH, has been around for thousands of years. It has remained relevant and applicable for EVERYDAY LIFE in every community from the beginning of time and will remain so for every community to come. By the power of the Holy Spirit this ancient truth will transform our lives, neighborhoods, cities, counties, state, nation and world.
It is our vision that the Saginaw Valley is renewed by Jesus Christ as it encounters a people that have been transformed by the very words of God. The Father and the Son sent the Holy Spirit to equip and empower us for life transformation and help others to do the same. All for the Glory of God!
